Join Project Purple and Lowe’s as we walk towards a world without pancreatic cancer and raise awareness and find a cure for pancreatic cancer.

Join us as we honor the life and legacy of César Augusto Cruz with a 1-mile walk, held in partnership with Lowe’s. Together, we take strides toward a world without pancreatic cancer, raising awareness, funding research, and walking in memory of a beloved husband, father, and friend whose impact continues to shine brightly.

César Cruz passed away in March 2025 at the age of 51 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. César was a man of deep faith, family values, and generosity. He was a devoted husband to Karen, a loving father to Alex, Hanna, and Ashlee, and a loyal son, brother, and friend. Whether through community service or everyday kindness, César Cruz consistently uplifted those around him.

César built a successful career in Asset Protection and served as a respected leader at Lowe’s. His Lowe’s family remembers him as someone who led with integrity, always took the time to help others, and brought laughter to every shift. César had servant leadership, upstanding character and integrity and his work friends became an extension of family to him.

To honor César’s legacy, his family and friends, along with Lowe’s and the broader community, are coming together to host this special mile walk event. The walk will be held at Calf Pasture Beach, raising vital funds for early detection and a cure for pancreatic cancer through Project Purple.

Let’s walk and remember as César’s light continues to guide us, and his memory inspires us to take action for those still fighting.
