Lace up your sneakers and join us in Somerset County for the 2nd annual Bob Hendricks Memorial 5k Run/Walk. Last year, 334 runners, walkers, strollers, and virtual participants came together for an incredible day. This year, we are stepping up once again to move toward a world without pancreatic cancer.

Our USATF-certified course and sanctioned event features clearly marked, paved paths connecting River Road Park to the Bedminster Police Station. Flat and fast, this Northern New Jersey 5K is perfect for competitive runners looking for a PR, casual joggers, and walkers of all ages.

Whether you’re running the paths of Bedminster or logging miles in your hometown through our virtual option, every step honors Bob’s legacy and raises critical funds for early detection and a cure.

In Honor of Bob Hendricks

Bob Hendricks was the absolute best husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many. He was a 2x Ironman, an Ultra marathon runner and triathlete. Bob was as humble and generous as them come and will be immensely missed, always. With absolutely no preexisting health conditions, Bob was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February 2025 and passed away in March 2025, only 4 weeks after diagnosis.

This race is looking to honor Bob’s memory by doing what he loved to do most — running (or walking) and also raising funds to donate to Project Purple (projectpurple.org). These funds will support critical research and patient aid, assisting in identifying effective treatments for a wider range of people. Currently, the five-year survival rate is only 13 percent, and there are no widely available early screening options. This effort also supports Project Purple’s mission of creating a world without pancreatic cancer.

Event Schedule & Details

Parking is available along the first set of fields at River Road Park. Race registration, the starting line, and the finish line are all conveniently located near the dog park.

7:00 A.M. – Volunteer arrival | Vendor set up
7:30 A.M. – Race registration | Check-in opens
8:30 A.M. – Pre-race introduction & Honoring Bob
9:00 A.M. – Race starts for 5K run/walk
10:15 A.M. – Post-race awards ceremony

T-Shirt Information

Register by September 4th to guarantee your official Bob Hendricks Memorial 5K event shirt! T-shirts will be available for in-person racers on race day, and shipped to our virtual participants. (Shirts are available while supplies last for those who register after the September 4th deadline).
