Can’t make it to an in-person event? No problem! Project Purple’s Virtual Event Series for pancreatic cancer research and patient aid is the easiest way to get involved. We host several virtual events each year that you can run on your treadmill at home, in your neighborhood, or wherever you’d like! For 2026, this series includes:
- Purple Paddy’s 5k | St. Patrick’s Day Weekend (March 13-17)
- Independence Day Double Mile For Early Detection | 4th of July Weekend (July 3-5) [Now Recruiting]
- Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month Turkey Trot | (Thanksgiving Weekend Nov. 26-29)
We’re currently recruiting for our Independence Day Double Mile for Early Detection! Click here to register.
More Info about The Independence Day Double:
You can join this event from anywhere: from the mountains to the prairies to the oceans white with foam… even your treadmill!
This is a 100% virtual event that will take place over the 4th of July weekend (July 3-6). You can do it all at once or choose to break it up over multiple days.
This will be Project Purple’s second of a 3-part virtual series for 2026.
By making your miles matter you are supporting Project Purple in 2 ways. First, you bring hope to patients by supporting our patient financial aid program and sending care packages to those who are battling. Secondly, you are directly impacting and advancing research for early detection and a cure.
We encourage you to set up a team and invite your friends and family to join you in making a difference. Participation can happen from anywhere. Share your fundraising pages and make an even larger impact.
You can stay in the loop with other members of our Project Purple community who are also participating by joining and posting in this Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/doublefordetection
Distance: 2 miles
Date: July 3-6
Time: When you want
Location: From home, at an in-person 5k, or anywhere you can!
Everyone who registers will receive an Independence Day Double Mile For Early Detection T-shirt.
