What is the Mug Club?

Our Project Purple community is dedicated to creating a world without pancreatic cancer. We have so many amazing runners, fundraisers, and survivors who empower patients in need through their active efforts in their communities and at races. However, many of our supporters can’t get out and cheer on the sidelines or run a 5k. With our new Mug Club program, fundraisers can make a difference without leaving the comfort of their own home!

“It’s pretty convenient, and everything is donated automatically once you submit your recurring donation,” said Sam DaCosta, Marketing Manager for Project Purple. “Plus the mug is pretty cool!”

Project Purple’s Mug Club allows participants to brew a better tomorrow for pancreatic cancer patients. For $13 a month, or more, you will become a part of our new Mug Club.

“If you sign up for the club, at the three-month mark we will send you our signature Project Purple mug,” said DaCosta. “It allows you to flaunt the fact that you are marking a difference. Without you even having to consciously re-donate, you are supporting patients and research for pancreatic cancer once you take that first step.”

As we build our program, more rewards will be available for our Mug Club Members!

“The goal of the club is, on the one hand, to put mugs in people’s hands, giving them a memento and tool to help raise awareness,” said DaCosta. “But, the main goal is to build a base of recurring steady donations that we know is always there. This reliable source of funding would allow us to commit even more funding to research programs and patient aid.”

Making a Difference one Cup at a Time

The five-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is currently 13%, but Project Purple is going to change that! With your help, we can help more patients fight back against this disease.

“Thirteen dollars a month can mean a lot to a patient,” said DaCosta. “Thirteen dollars might not matter much to someone who isn’t battling pancreatic cancer, but for a family going through this disease, every little bit helps. That morning cup of coffee may not mean very much to you or me, but it can mean the world to the patient or loved one who has to get up early to travel for treatments – especially when you consider the combined efforts of all of us making $13 donations each month.”

Your donation benefits pancreatic cancer research and support pancreatic cancer patients through their treatments by helping them afford cost of living expenses.

Our Patient Financial Aid Program is designed to help patients with medical and everyday living expenses so patients can focus on what matters most: the fight against this disease.

Project Purple has also donated over $3 million and counting to pancreatic cancer research – aggressively focusing on early detection. This includes providing foundational funding for the PRECEDE Consortium, the early detection program at UNMC’s Pancreatic Cancer Center of Excellence, and now Hartford Healthcare as well.

Your donation through this program provides a platform for Project Purple to continue our mission of improved survival rates and one day a world without pancreatic cancer. If you are interested in becoming a member of our Mug Club, please click here!
