Join Project Purple in Italy this Fall from October 10th through the 14th.
Enjoy an authentic Italian experience in the countryside of Italy with Project Purple and some of the leading pancreatic cancer researchers. We will provide all food, accommodations, experiences, and travel from Rome airport. This does not include airfare to Rome from wherever you are traveling from. Upon arriving in Rome we will head to the Province of Frosinone, about a 1 hour and 20-minute drive to this lush and wonderful region of Central Italy.

Thursday night – Dinner & Experience
Isola Del Liri – Pizza and Truffle experience – taste some of the best Truffles in Italy along with traditional Neapolitan Pizza in one of Europe’s wonders of the magical waterfall that is in the center of Isola Italy. We will also have a researcher with us to talk about the latest in pancreatic cancer research.

Morning trip to Pastena Caves
Lunch
Afternoon – learn how to make traditional Italian pasta with Chef Valerio Giorgi – this will also include sauce.
Dinner – making the pasta that was created by everyone in the afternoon.

Saturday
Italian breakfast
Tour a mozzarella factory – learn how mozzarella is made – watch as artisans make handmade buffalo mozzarella – taste samples of cheese OR pick olives then bring them to the oil press to be pressed and learn all about the process of making olive oil – taste samples and eat traditional Italian snacks (local bread, cured meats and more).
Lunch
Afternoon activity – tour winery – learn all about wines/ sample wines/ tour the actual place where wine is made
Dinner
Hear from a researcher about the latest and greatest in pancreatic cancer research.
Sunday
Italian breakfast
Hike- 6 ½ hours – Mount Cassino – Hiking around the battlefield of Monte Cassino
Monte Cassino battlefield private walks through ancient mule tracks. Hiking the Cavendish Road with original storytelling to arrive on the top of the impregnable hills defending Monte Cassino Abbey and the Gustav Line in WWII, discovering the bloody footprints of the soldiers and the hardships of the civilian escape.
Lunch will be provided on the hike.
Tour of the abbey at the top of the Monte Cassino.
Dinner – Celebrate the day as well as hear from a researcher.
Monday
Departure date is either in the morning or mid-morning – Breakfast will be provided. Transportation to and from the airport will be provided as well
