Project Purple’s Pancreatic Cancer Research Recovery Support Grant

Project Purple is pleased to announce a special funding opportunity aimed at sustaining critical research in pancreatic cancer that has been disrupted due to recent administrative funding policy changes. This Recovery Support Grant provides up to two years of bridge or rescue funding for projects that received a formal Notice of Award (NOA) but were later frozen, withdrawn, or defunded.

Purpose:

This initiative is designed to help ensure continuity of promising pancreatic cancer research that was unfairly disrupted, offering investigators the opportunity to continue building on their peer-reviewed funded work.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Provide official documentation of a NIH/DOD/NSF Notice of Award (NOA) and documentation the award was subsequently rescinded, frozen, or withdrawn.
  • Provide a Specific Aims page describing the Research purpose.
  • Budget detailing amount needed to continue research project.

Priority will be given to:

  • Investigators whose award represented their sole source of independent research funding.
  • Early-Stage Investigators (ESIs)—defined as within 10 years of their first faculty appointment—whose rescinded grant was their first major award beyond startup support.

Scope: We welcome applications across the full continuum of pancreatic cancer research, including basic science, translational studies, clinical research, and population science. The proposed project must align with or logically extend from the originally funded aims.

Funding and Duration:

  • Awards will continue to support research for up to 2 years, with continuation beyond Year 1 will be contingent upon achieving defined milestones and deliverables.
  • Detailed budget parameters and allowable expenses will be specified in the forthcoming Request for Applications (RFA).
  • This will not include indirect costs

Together, let’s ensure that critical momentum in pancreatic cancer research is not lost.

Note: The “Apply Here” button will require an uploaded proposal. If you are looking to contact us for questions, please click here to visit our contact page.

Submission deadline is 10/13/2025

Awards will be determined and grantees notified by 12/1/2025

Funding to be distributed before end of year 2025
